Triathlonranking is based on the WTC calender and some other important races. The ranking gives an indication of who is amongst the best athletes in the world. The list of races used for calculating the ranking, can change every year. Not during the season. |

The races are being classified according to their importance. Hawaii, of course, is the most important race. Next in the classification we find classic races like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Lanzarote, Suisse and Roth because they are at least 15 years old. Frankfurt gets the same importance because of the strong field each year. |

Only athletes finishing in the top-10, except for Kona, can score points. No race or no finish = no points. For the top-10 no difference is made between pro and age group. |

The countryranking is based on the 5 best athletes of each country. |

Only athletes finishing in the top-10, except for Kona, can score points. For an example. Stadler and Badmann are amongst the best athletes but are not yet in the ranking because they did no important races. Just like in any other rankings. No race no points. |

When an athlete is sanctioned after a positive drug test, the athlete loses all the points scored in that year. |

From 2009 there's gonna be a year ranking based on the results of the past 12 months. After a race, the points scored by a athlete are added to his previous ranking, while the points scored in that same race the previous year are substracted. |
